About Us

Simplicity and Realism in Practice

To our Financial Advisors, simplicity means creating and sticking to a plan. Realism is the practice of carefully observing economic trends and indicators, and investment influencers to inform planning.

We work in a modest office that’s rich in fellowship. Our satisfaction comes from working alongside clients through all stages of life, helping them live well. To do that, we focus on long-term cycles and calculated risks, where appropriate—not the latest fad investments.

Kirkland Financial Advisers History

Established in 1998, Kirkland Financial Advisers started as a partnership between work colleagues, Tim Bovey and Shaun Dean. The business grew throughout the Dotcom down cycle of the early 2000’s, through the 2007-2009 recession and onward.

We welcomed a new member to our team, Chuck Scheinbaum, in early 2018, allowing us to continue our practice of closely managing accounts and providing clients with frequent communication.

Esteemed Partners

To provide clients with flexibility, we work with the following partners.

Charles Schwab. We purchase and manage investments through this organization’s system, so we can recommend the combination of investments we believe are the best fit for each of our clients.

Fidelity. Depending on a client’s portfolio, this investing platform is sometimes the best option. We occasionally use Fidelity to purchase and manage client assets.

Professional Affiliations

Registered Representative

Bryan earned his Bachelors degree in International Business at Canisius University, Buffalo, NY.  Bryan commissioned in the United States Army Intelligence Corps serving in company command and strategic planning.
After seven years on active duty Bryan became inspired by the financial independence retire early movement (FIRE). He wasn’t interested in not working, rather it was other principles associated with the movement that caught his attention. It was about having the flexibility to choose careers, to take time off when needed, and have the time to pursue passion projects regardless of income generation.  Financial coaching became one of his passion projects that led to a new career in teaching the principals of the FIRE movement.
Bryan enjoys serving clients with diverse backgrounds and at different stages in their financial journey.  He is located at our St. Paul, Minnesota office and works with clients in numerous State across the U.S. including Hawaii.
